This call is a great opportunity to tell your elected officials why you support expanding and protecting abortion access in Massachusetts, especially by ending the judicial bypass system. Not sure what to say? Here is an example script to get you started:
- “My name is [NAME], and I’m a constituent of Representative/Senator [REP OR SENATOR NAME]. I live at [ADDRESS]. I’m calling in support of the ROE Act, House Bill #3320 and Senate Bill #1209. I believe that abortion access is a right that should be reflected by Massachusetts state law. Current law has created unjust barriers to care, especially for young, low income people and people of color. Forcing a young person to go through the court system to seek abortion care increases financial and emotional burdens, delays care by an average of two weeks and shames the young person. I urge Representative/Senator [REP OR SENATOR NAME] to fix this by supporting the ROE Act and ensuring it includes meaningful protections for young people.”
