In this time of federal crisis, fundamental reproductive rights are at risk and state legislatures play a key role in safeguarding them. The ongoing federal threat to reproductive freedom makes the critical work of the Massachusetts Legislature more important each day. Massachusetts voters deserve to know where their legislators stand on reproductive freedom.
Our top legislative priority this session is the ROE Act, which will codify the legal right to abortion into Massachusetts state law and ensure that anyone, regardless of age, gender, or insurance coverage can access safe, legal abortion. The ROE Act also removes an onerous, inequitable judicial bypass process for young people seeking abortions, removes inflammatory, anti-abortion language from Massachusetts law, and allows for abortions up to 24 weeks in the event of lethal fetal diagnoses.
Cosponsorship is just one step that a legislator can take to show support for the ROE Act and for reproductive freedom, but it is an important step. Use the table below to find out where your legislator stands on the ROE Act! To find the names of your State Representative and State Senator, visit wheredoivotema.com.
