BOSTON, Mass.– Rebecca Hart Holder, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts, the Commonwealth’s leading pro-choice political advocacy organization, issued the following statement on Brandy Fluker Oakley’s victory in the 12th Suffolk District Primary:
“I am thrilled for Brandy and proud of the campaign she ran. I know she is excited to represent her community on Beacon Hill, especially because she grew up in the 12th Suffolk District.
“Voters across Massachusetts are making it increasingly clear that they want leaders who support reproductive freedom and the ROE Act. Brandy Fluker Oakley is a bona fide reproductive freedom champion. We’re at a critical point in our Commonwealth, one that requires us to address systemic racism and how it affects all aspects of society. Now more than ever, we need leaders like Brandy who understand how critical fighting for reproductive freedom is to fighting for racial and social justice.”
Brandy Fluker Oakley is running unopposed in the general election on November 3.
