BOSTON, Mass. – The NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts PAC (NPCM PAC), the political arm of the Commonwealth’s leading grassroots pro-choice advocacy organization, today announced the endorsement of the following candidates running for seats in the Massachusetts State Legislature: Danillo “Dan” Sena for State Representative of the 37th Middlesex District and Susan Moran for State Senator of the Plymouth and Barnstable District. With this latest slate of endorsements, the NPCM PAC has now endorsed three candidates in the 2020 election cycle. In February, the NPCM PAC endorsed Kate Lipper-Garabedian for the 32nd Middlesex District, who won a seat in the Massachusetts House of Representatives during Tuesday’s special election.
These endorsements come at a pivotal moment for the reproductive freedom movement in the Bay State. With the ROE Act (H.3320, S.1209) gaining momentum in the state legislature, the NPCM PAC believes that electing reproductive freedom champions who will help advance the ROE Act is of the utmost importance.
“In the last decade, we have seen unprecedented attacks on reproductive freedom, nearly all of which originate in state legislatures. Given the composition of the Supreme Court, we fear anti-choice decisions that will allow states to enact harmful barriers and put access to abortion out of reach for millions of Americans.” said Rebecca Hart Holder, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts. “Massachusetts has an opportunity to push back against these nationwide attacks by voting reproductive freedom champions into office. Simply put, state and local elections are critical to protecting and expanding reproductive rights. We are thrilled that our endorsed candidates are so passionate in their support of reproductive freedom. Their leadership is critical to passing the ROE Act and we are proud to support them as they fight for the women and families of Massachusetts.”
Special general elections will be taking place on Tuesday, March 31st. The NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts PAC encourages voters to support our endorsed candidates and help protect reproductive freedom in Massachusetts.
